Register a YubiKey (Yubico OTP)

In the following steps, we will explain how to register your YubiKey with the factory-configured Yubico OTP in the system.

The Yubico OTP is factory-configured in Slot 1 of the YubiKey. By briefly pressing the YubiKey button, the OTP can be entered into the corresponding field.
The OTP should start with "cc" and consist of a total of 44 characters.
The first 12 characters are the "Public ID" of your YubiKey, which remains the same for each OTP.

Step 1

Insert the YubiKey into your PC.

Then go to the Token Management page and under "Request a software token..." select the option "Factory-configured YubiKey (Yubico OTP)".

Optionally, you can set a short description, e.g., "YubiKey 1".

Click into the field for the "Public ID" and then briefly press the button on your YubiKey. The field will be automatically filled, and the form will be submitted.

Alternatively, you can manually enter your 12-digit Public ID (starting with "cc") and then click the "REQUEST" button.

Step 3

Your YubiKey will then be registered in the 2FA system.
Before you can use it, it must be activated.

Click
"Perform activation".

Now, an OTP from your YubiKey must be entered.

Press the YubiKey button again briefly.
The OTP will be entered, and the form will be automatically submitted.

This completes the activation.
